The UK ETA

Since 2 April 2025, most European travellers must have an ETA or a visa for the UK in order to travel to the United Kingdom. It is not possible anymore to travel to the UK with only your passport. Fortunately, you can submit your ETA application easily online, as long as you fulfill all the requirements. If you submit your application via e-Visa.co.uk you will not need to download any app.

Breakdown of the costs

The ETA UK has a total cost of £44.95 per person, independently of the British pound exchange rate. The cost includes 16 GBP of consular fees for the British Inmigration Services, and £28.95 of service costs for e-Visa.co.uk. The service costs are applied for services such as the checking of your application by a visa expert from e-Visa.co.uk. Also, you will be able to contact our Customer Support department at any moment.

You can pay the ETA costs with a number of well-known payment methods, such as Sofort Banking, PayPal, Google Pay, Apple Pay, or credit card. No transaction fees will be applied.

Cost of additional services

If you apply for your UK ETA via e-Visa.co.uk, you will be able to use a series of additional services, like the urgent processing of your application or the compensation of the CO₂ emmisions of your flight. You will need to pay an additional cost for each of these additional services. If you don't want to make use of them, it is not a problem, all of them are optional. You can also travel to the UK with a standard ETA, of course.

Urgent application

If you are travelling to the UK at short notice, it may be advisable to submit an urgent application. Urgent applications are treated with priority and sent to the UK immigration service first, also on weekends. Urgent applications are subject to a surcharge of £17.50 per person. Urgent requests are usually processed on average in 60 minutes, much faster than the average turnaround processing time of 3 days. However, it is important to keep in mind that the above-mentioned delivery times are always an average. It can always happen that an application remains pending for longer than normal due to, for example, technical problems at the immigration services, or at e-Visa.co.uk. For this reason, even urgent applications are likely to be kept on hold for a longer period of time. Therefore, it is always better to submit your application as soon as possible and avoid problems during your trip.

CO₂ compensation

A lot of CO₂ is emitted during your trip to the UK. Therefore, we offer you the possibility to offset part of the CO₂ emissions of your trip. You can do this by selecting the ‘CO₂ offset’ checkbox. Delivery time of the ETA
The UK ETA UK is approved in 3 days on average, and in 60 minutes on average if it is an urgent application. The processing time starts once the payment is made and all required documents are submitted. It is important to bear in mind that these are always average times. If the UK immigration services carry out a manual check, delays may occur. If you will be travelling in less than 7 days, e-Visa.co.uk will only offer you the possibility to submit an urgent application. An urgent application has an additional cost of £17.50 per person.

Travelling to England with a valid ETA

As soon as your ETA will be approved, you will be able to travel to the UK at once. During the 2 year validity period, you will be able to travel to the UK an unlimited amount of times. This means that you don't need to apply and pay for an UK ETA everytime you travel to the country. Each stay can be of a maximum of 6 months.
