Completing the form step by step

You start your Sri Lanka visa application by opening the application form. This form consists of three parts, namely a part regarding the contact information, a part about the travel details and a part about the details of the traveller(s). In this last part, you enter the passport details and information about the profession and answer a couple of background questions for each traveller. It is possible to submit a group application and therefore apply for multiple Sri Lanka visas at the same time. You can do so by clicking on the button “Add a Traveller” You can add up to ten travellers to an application. In the case of a group application, you only enter the contact information and travel details once. The other parts of the form have to be completed separately for each traveller. To do so, you should have the passport details of each traveller at hand.

1. Contact information
In the first part of the form, you enter your own contact information. This includes your email address, phone number and home address.

2. Travel details
In the second part of the application form, you have to enter your expected arrival date in Sri Lanka. This can be an estimate. Your actual arrival date can deviate up to three months from the date you enter here. In this part of the application form, you can also indicate whether you want to use urgent delivery and the purpose of your trip.

3. Traveller information
In the third and last part of the form, you enter the passport details of each traveller separately. It is extremely important that these details are correct, so enter them accurately. After you have entered the passport details, you need to enter the position or profession for each traveller. In addition, for each traveller three background questions need to be answered.

Submitting the application
Once the details of all the travellers have been entered, you click on the green button at the bottom of the form to submit the application.

Checking the details and completing the payment

After you submit the application, you are redirected to the verification page. Here, you can see all the details you have entered. Check whether all the information is 100% correct. At this stage of the application process, changes can still be made easily. Once your Sri Lanka visa application has been processed, you will no longer be able to change any details.

After you reviewed the information, you chose a payment method to complete the costs of the visa application It is possible to pay via credit card, PayPal, Google Pay or Apple Pay. As soon as the payment is complete, your application will be processed immediately. Approving your application takes about 4 days on average. Urgent applications are processed within 30 minutes on average.

Downloading and printing the visa

If your visa application for Sri Lanka has been approved, you will receive a confirmation by email. In this email, you can find a link to your personal status page, a secure online space. The email also contains instructions on how to open, download and print the travel authorisation from this page. It is recommended to print out all visas within your application twice.

Save at least one copy of your visa in your carry-on luggage. It is not required to print out the visa and take it with you, but it could come in handy if you can show a copy of the visa at the border control in Sri Lanka. Also bring your passport with you. Keep in mind that this needs to be the same passport as the one you used when completing the form.

Do you discover that the details on your visa do not match the details in your passport once the visa is granted? In that case, your visa is invalid. As soon as your application is processed, it is no longer possible to change any details. It is also not possible to apply for a new visa to correct any mistakes. However, you can still travel to Sri Lanka with the granted visa. In many cases, it is possible to correct mistakes by the immigration service at the airport in Sri Lanka without cost. However, this does take some time. Keep in mind that with serious mistakes, additional costs can be added.
