About the Myanmar visa

All British and European citizens that are travelling to Myanmar in 2024 or 2025 must apply for a visa. Only citizens of Myanmar and a limited number of other Asian countries do not need a visa to enter the country. Consequently, the visa requirement applies to all British and Irish tourists, regardless of age. The visa application has become available online in recent years. It is therefore no longer necessary to visit the Myanmar embassy in order to apply for a Myanmar visa.

What is the visa for Myanmar? The visa for Myanmar is an electronic document, also known as an e-visa. After your visa has been approved, it is sent to you by e-mail. Strictly speaking, the document you receive is not a visa, but a so-called “approval letter”. This is a confirmation which states that the traveller concerned will be allowed to enter Myanmar. The actual visa will be affixed to the passport upon arrival by a Myanmar immigration officer. You will pay the cost of the Myanmar visa during the online application procedure. No additional payments need to be made on arrival.

Validity visa

Validity period of the visa
The tourist visa has a validity period of 90 days. During this period, you can stay in Myanmar for a maximum of 28 consecutive days. Even travellers that arrive in Myanmar on the 90th day after approval of the visa can stay in the country 28 days from the day of arrival. This means that you can be a little flexible with your arrival date after you have submitted a visa application. You can use the visa to enter the country a single time. If you leave and want to return to Myanmar at a later date, you will need to apply for a new visa.

e-Visa.co.uk is a commercial and professional visa agency, and supports travellers in obtaining, among others, the Myanmar visa. e-Visa.co.uk is an official partner of the International Air Transport Association, IATA, with membership number 57231226, acts as an intermediary, is no law firm, nor does it employ lawyers, does not provide legal advice, and is in no way part of any government. You can also apply for a visa directly with the immigration service (50 USD per visa, via evisa.moip.gov.mm). However, not with our level of support. If you submit your application via e-Visa.co.uk, our support centre is available to you 24/7. In addition, we manually check your application and all the documents you provide before submitting it to the immigration authorities on your behalf. If we suspect any errors or omissions while doing so, we will personally contact you to ensure that your application can still be processed quickly and correctly. To use our services, you pay us 50 USD in consular fees, which we pay to the immigration service on your behalf, as well as £40.33 in service fees as compensation for our services, including VAT. Our services have saved many travellers from major problems during their trip. Should an application be rejected despite our support and verification, we will refund the full purchase price (unless an application for a previous Myanmar visa was rejected for the same traveller).
