You may submit your application as long before your departure as you wish. To make sure that your visa is valid when you travel, your application is processed no earlier than 30 days before your departure. The average delivery time from that moment is 7 days. This means that you will receive your visa in time. You may adapt your departure date, as long as you arrive in Cambodia within 90 days after your visa is issued.

The Cambodia visa is valid for 90 days

The tourist visa for Cambodia has a validity period of 90 days. This period begins on the day your visa application is approved, and your visa is issued. This means that once you receive your visa, you have 90 days to travel to Cambodia. It does not matter whether you travel to Cambodia the day after you receive your visa or towards the end of its validity term. This does not have any effect on the permitted duration of your stay in Cambodia. Please note: You may not stay in Cambodia for 90 days; the permitted duration of stay is 30 days.

You may use the visa for a single entry only

The Cambodia visa is a single-entry visa. This means that you may use the visa for a single trip to the country. The validity of your visa expires the moment you leave Cambodia, regardless of how long you stayed in the country and how long the original validity period was.

Stay in Cambodia for up to 30 days

Although the Cambodia visa is valid for 90 days, you may stay in the country for no longer than 30 days. It does not matter how long your visa is still valid for when you enter Cambodia. The validity term of 90 days only applies to your arrival in Cambodia. If you arrive in Cambodia within those 90 days, you may always stay in Cambodia for up to 30 days.

Cambodia visa extension for a 60-day stay

If you enter Cambodia on a tourist visa, you can extend the permitted duration of stay once. This allows you to stay in Cambodia for up to 60 days. Thus, you may extend the permitted duration of stay by 30 days.

Apply for a visa extension

If you want to extend your Cambodia visa, you have to visit the office of the immigration department in Phnom Penh. The office is located across the city’s international airport. At the immigration office, you need to fill in a form to apply for the visa extension. This should take approximately half an hour, but it may take longer if it is busy. After filling in the form, you have to pay the cost of approximately 30-40 USD and to submit your passport. You can pick up your passport with the extended visa around one week later.

If you are not able to go to the immigration office in Phnom Penh or if you do not want to go there, you can also find commercial companies that can extend your visa in your name. This is more expensive than an extension at the immigration office, but these companies may be able to extend your visa faster. It also saves you the trip to the immigration office. Please be cautious about which company to use, however, as you have to hand in your passport.

When are you leaving?

Are you unsure about when you want to travel to Cambodia?
While applying for your visa, you have to fill in an expected date of arrival in Cambodia. The Cambodian authorities do not check whether your arrival is on the exact day that you entered in the form. Nevertheless, your actual arrival date should not deviate too much from the expected arrival date. The expected arrival date determines when your visa application will be processed, and that determines when the validity term of your visa begins. Do you submit your application on e-Visa.co.uk? In that case, you may arrive in Cambodia 20 to 30 days before or 60 to 70 days after your expected arrival date.

The validity is connected to your passport

The Cambodia visa is only valid if you fulfil the visa requirements at all times. This includes that your passport has to be valid for at least 6 months from the moment you arrive in Cambodia. If you want to extend the validity of your visa in Cambodia, your passport needs to be valid for at least 6 months from the moment the extension is granted. Keep in mind that your visa is only valid with the passport that was used for the visa application. Did you receive a new passport in the meantime? Then you need to apply for a new visa with your new passport.
