The Egypt visa allows you to stay in the country for a maximum of 30 days. This goes for all types of electronic visas (e-visa) that you can apply for online. Bear in mind that your entire stay in Egypt has to fall within your visa validity period.

Single-entry visa validity period

If you are going to enter Egypt only once, you can apply for the single-entry tourist visa. This visa type has a validity period of 90 days and allows you to stay in Egypt for 30 days. Your whole stay must fall within the visa’s 90 days validity period, which is actually indicated on your Egypt visa.

When does the validity period start?
The validity period starts as soon as the application is approved. You can apply for your Egypt visa at any moment, but your application will be put on hold until exactly 30 days before the expected date of arrival entered in the form. This guarantees that your visa will be valid for at least 60 days after your arrival date, since the Egypt visa has a validity period of 90 days.

Multiple-entry visa validity period

Are you planning to enter Egypt more than once? Or do you intend to briefly leave Egypt, to take part on a cruise, for instance? In this case, you need to apply for a multiple-entry visa, as this type allows you to enter Egypt an illimited number of times. Each individual stay can last up to 30 consecutive days, but they all must fall within the validity period of 180 days of the visa. The validity period starts as soon as your visa application is approved.

You can esily apply for the multiple-entry visa in the same way as you do for the single-entry visa. Select "Multiple entry" under the option "Number of entries" in the online-application form. You will then automatically apply for the selected visa version.

You can apply for your multiple-entry visa long before departure
You can apply for your Egypt visa as early as you want. Enter your expected date of arrival in the visa application form. If you will be arriving in Egypt in less than 30 days, your application will be processed immediately. Otherwise, your application will be put on hold until exactly 30 days before your arrival date.

Multiple-entry Egypt visa cheaper

The Multiple-entry visa is cheaper than two separate visas
The multiple-entry visa is more expensive than the single-entry variant, but it is not twice as expensive. If you expect to go on holiday to Egypt twice in a period of 180 days, it is cheaper to apply for a multiple-entry visa than for two separate visas. Read more about the cost of the Egypt visa.

How to report a change in your travel planning

Do you want to arrive in Egypt on a different day than the one indicated in the application form? If your new date of arrival falls within the visa validity period, you don't need to notify anything. Bear in mind, though, that you will need to leave Egypt before your visa expires. If this is not the case, you will have to submit a new application. This is because it is not possible to change the validity period on your visa. You can only make changes to the data entered in the form until the Egyptian Immigration Services start to process your application.

Other situations where your Egypt visa expires

An Egypt visa is only valid if you travel with the same passport you used to apply for the visa. If you want to travel to Egypt on a different passport, you will need to apply for a new Egypt visa and use that other passport. Once your application has been processed, you cannot change the passport details on your visa.

Your visa may also be invalidated if you break the Egyptian law. The Egyptian Immigration Service reserves its right to refuse entry to travellers who are suspected of posing an increased security risk. If the Immigration Department finds that you pose an increased security threat, your application may be rejected, often without an explanation of the underlying reason. In this case, you will receive a full refund of the purchase price of your visa. If you still want to travel to Egypt after that your e-visa has been rejected, you'd better opt for a physical visa. The application procedure is more complicated and takes longer. For this, you must report to an Egyptian consulate or embassy. The application procedure is there more complicated and takes longer, but you will be able to personally explain why you deem you don't pose a security risk. If you can convince the consular officer you may still obtain a valid visa for your holiday to Egypt.

If we suspect any errors or omissions while doing so, we will personally contact you to ensure that your application can still be processed quickly and correctly. To use our services, you pay us 25 USD in consular fees, which we pay to the immigration service on your behalf, as well as £36.41 in service fees as compensation for our services, including VAT. Should an application be rejected despite our support and verification, we will refund the full purchase price (unless an application for a previous Egypt visa was rejected for the same traveller).
