Travellers from all European countries, including the United Kingdom and Ireland, need a visa to be allowed to travel to Cambodia. A tourist visa for Cambodia (type T) suffices in most cases. Next to the tourist visa, Cambodia also has a business visa/ordinary visa (type E) and a number of other visa types.

The Cambodia tourist visa (type T)

Are you going on a holiday to Cambodia? In that case, you need a tourist visa of the visa type T. The tourist visa allows you to stay in Cambodia for 30 days. You may also extend the validity period of the visa by another 30 days after arrival. You can apply for the tourist visa at the embassy, online or upon arrival in Cambodia. Cruise travellers always have to apply for their tourist visa at the Cambodian embassy. The tourist visa that is issued online is called an e-visa (not to be confused with the visa type ‘E’).

You can apply for a tourist visa for Cambodia within a few minutes on e-Visa.co.uk. The visa is issued in 7 days on average, after which it is sent to you by e-mail. Urgent applications are processed in 4 days on average. If you apply for the tourist visa before departure, you neither have to fill in any forms upon arrival, nor do you need to wait for your visa application to be reviewed. You may pass the border control immediately.

The business visa or ordinary visa Cambodia (type E)

In addition to the tourist visa, Cambodia also offers a business visa, type E. The Cambodian authorities sometimes call this visa an ordinary visa. Visas of the type E are valid for a stay of 30 days in Cambodia. A visa of the type E may be used for business purposes, and it may be converted into another type of visa after arrival, e.g. into a work permit or a business visa that is valid for multiple months. According to the official rules, an invitation letter from a Cambodian company is required to apply for this visa, but that is not always necessary in practice. The type E visa costs 6 USD more than a tourist visa.

The diplomatic and official visa (type A of B)

If you travel to Cambodia for government affairs, you can apply for a visa of the types A or B. Holders of diplomatic passports can apply for the A-visa, and the B-visa is intended for travellers with official passports. Applications for these visa types have to be submitted at the Cambodian embassy.

The courtesy visa (type C)

Type C visas are intended for travellers aiming to join an organisation in Cambodia, such as a private company or a non-profit organisation. The organisation must be officially recognised, and it must have signed a statement of agreement with the Cambodian governments. Applicants need to have received an employment contract to be eligible for this visa. Applications for this visa must be submitted at the Cambodian embassy.

The Khmer visa (type K)

The Khmer visa is only available for people of Cambodian descent who do not travel with a Cambodian passport. Applicants have to submit a Cambodian birth certificate or another document that proves their Cambodian descent. Applicants with Cambodian parents may also submit their parents' birth certificates. Applications for the K-visa must be submitted at the Cambodian embassy.

e-Visa.co.uk is a commercial and professional visa agency, and supports travellers in obtaining, among others, the Cambodia visa. e-Visa.co.uk is an official partner of the International Air Transport Association, IATA, with membership number 57231226, acts as an intermediary, is no law firm, nor does it employ lawyers, does not provide legal advice, and is in no way part of any government. You can also apply for a visa directly with the immigration service (36 USD per visa, via www.evisa.gov.kh). However, not with our level of support. If you submit your application via e-Visa.co.uk, our support centre is available to you 24/7. In addition, we manually check your application and all the documents you provide before submitting it to the immigration authorities on your behalf. If we suspect any errors or omissions while doing so, we will personally contact you to ensure that your application can still be processed quickly and correctly. To use our services, you pay us 36 USD in consular fees, which we pay to the immigration service on your behalf, as well as £36.50 in service fees as compensation for our services, including VAT. Our services have saved many travellers from major problems during their trip. Should an application be rejected despite our support and verification, we will refund the full purchase price (unless an application for a previous Cambodia visa was rejected for the same traveller).
